Are you ready for Feb 14th??

OOh it's almost time to send your sweetheart a Valentine. Are you ready?

Just 3 more days until Cupid pays a visit, dispensing chocolate, love and all things shiny and blingy!

So Santa comes down the chimney, and the Easter bunny hops into your yard, leaving baskets of goodies and hiding eggs, and the Tooth Fairy sneaks in and leaves cash or gift cards(modern day fairy version) under your pillow....how does Cupid make his appearance?

hmmm. I'll have to ponder this. Scantily clad little guy with arrows poised to shoot L O V E straight to your heart. Worked for me!!

Things that make me Smile!

Today was a busy day, filled with many challenges, and in deciding what to blog about, I decided to treat myself to a selection of photos that just simply make me happy!

No order to them, no real theme other than all of these just simply make me grin!!

Like these gorgeous flowers!

Now of course, my main man, makes me grin the widest! That's my sweet hubby, Peter!

anyone who knows me can appreciate my love for the beach...any beach! anywhere!

and for fresh flowers

especially Hydrangeas. They're so big and beautiful and I wish I could grow some. Could grow anything for that matter. I've got no green thumb!

Outdoor cafes. aaah the romance of a sidewalk cafe, sipping and nibbling on delicious yummies, with my sweet hubby of course!

Old fabulous architectural details. Isn't this an amazing piece of architecture?

It was larger than life, on a rooftop garden, in Canada! Does it get any better?

Oooh, I love old white churches too. They make me smile, and wonder at all of the people who have worshipped there through the ages. So peaceful and serene and simple in its beauty.

Barns. White barns. I'm obsessed with them.

I adore white barns, the shabbier the better because they show their weathered patina, and the barns seem so regal in being so old and still so purposeful.

And of course Antiques! Any time, any place, any kind! I get goose bumps when I see a sign like this, get a huge smile on my face, and feel happy just knowing there are myriad items that are inside, with stories, all waiting to be discovered!

Romance is in the Air!

I am such a Romantic. I love February! I got engaged in February, although not on Valentines Day. Hubby(well not yet) was working long hours that day, twenty years ago, so we got engaged on Feb. 16th! It's even better I think!

Anyway, I love the reds and pinks of February, don't you?

It's so easy to make your everyday decor into something much more with a simple heart wreath, or garland made from old music sheets, or a stenciled L O V E
across even a plain table runner!

Add some candles, some red candies and poof! Instant blissful love!

Even this naeutral display could benefit from some pinks or reds.

So here's to a month filled with love... for family, friends young and old!

It's a Prairie Sisters Party coming this month!

Have you heard about the big junk show that's coming to the Kalispell Fairgrounds this month?

It's run by Laura and Molly from Missoula, where their original show was held last September. We were a vendor there, and had an amazing show, and met tons of cool people too!

So needless to say, when I heard they were bringing their show to Kalispell, I signed up--we'll have 2 booths this time!! We'll bring our good stuff that we've saved for the Show, and still be open back in Columbia Falls too!

So you'll want to save Saturday February 25th for this junkin extravaganza! It will be in the Expo building and you'll hear more about it as the days draw closer. For more details, check out their web at www.theprairiesisters.com

Thanks everyone! A fun evening was had by all!!

DIVA night was amazing. We saw so many of you there on Friday night! We were so busy, that we forgot to take photos! So no photos of the evening, but we have some great stories to share, and these photos that were taken by Jaimie Nelson, photographer extraordinaire, on her last visit! Enjoy!

The party started early, at 4:30 or so, and by 6:00 pm the crowd was here! My husband had just finished graveling the parking lot. there were no more spaces left, so as he pulled away, 3 cars were juggling for his spot! Thanks to my kind neighbors for putting up with cars everywhere!(I offered them chocolate...)

My favorite story was when Sarah A. came in, told us she was just on her way to the store for some milk, saw the party and pulled in!! She joined the merriment and we even gave her several excuses to use to explain to her hubby why it took her so long!

( I hope she remembered the milk...)

I think this "N" stands for Nothing left! almost. You all cleaned us out of lots of pretties. We truly did sell out of our new line of Bling bracelets in one night, so I must get more in!

So these yummy handmade ruffled" snowballs" are really gorgeous, and our youngest DIVA, Sylvie, fell in love with them. She came up to my desk, asked the price, didn't have quite enough money left from her allowance, and walked sadly away. Believe it or not, Lucy, one of my very generous customers at the desk, overheard, and tucked enough money in Sylvie's hand to buy her "snowball".

Is that the best story? It makes my heart sing, and confirms the goodness of people and what amazing customers/friends we have here at Station 8. I am very Blessed!

We're ready to celebrate our return from our buying trip!!

We've worked twelve hour days, unloading,merchandising, creating vignettes, pricing and cleaning all our new vintage finds, so we're ready for the grand Re-Opening today!

I just love the bold graphics of signage. It adds such texture and wit to any room!

the British look is so hot right now, with the Union Jack flag and the phrase :Stay calm and Cary on, everywhere. It has been my motto all week. I kept chanting it whenever I needed to reassure myself that we could get it all done! It worked!

Okay, that bed looks so comfy, that I may just have had to test it out with a little nap at one point this week... maybe.....just a tiny little nap.

Our pretty new line of soaps, in vintage decorative bottles, perfect for the kitchen!

So thank you to my team this week: Rachel, Ina , Vanessa, Josh, Harry, Joe and for the inspiring words of encouragement from Amy and Barb and Kristy. I appreciate and need all of you!
