Springtime in the shop!

While we were away in San Francisco, the team of Barbara and Devie were running the shop.
Look at the yummy displays they created while we were away!

Love the blending of old, older and freshly updated pieces!

An old Eastlake style sofa that has been partially deconstructed.
I just love this look!

Crumpled brown wrapping paper never looked so good as it does here as a table covering!
And you can even add your own whimsical words to it!
Great job ladies!

Have a magical week--the end of February is here. Time to think Spring!

And  tocelebrate, please join us for our next DIVA night on Friday March 8 6-9PM.
We'll be showcasing our fresh goods just in from San Francisco, and
you can preview shop our Mega Indoor Garage sale!!

All the best

We're here in San Francisco!!

Hello everyone! We're here at the International Show at the Moscone center in downtown San Francisco! Ready to fill our roller bag with amazing goodies to bring back to the shop!
Rachel has the list of what we need!

Can my smile get any bigger? I am too excited to be here!!

And the booths are filled to overflowing with great original jewelry, fabulous displays, and really cool people! We loved this booth that was edgy and industrial!

And this was just the first load we took back to the hotel! Look at those bagfuls!!

It's been a great first day, and now time to walk back to the hotel, have dinner and rest up for tomorrow, as we have to go back and buy everything we didn't get today!
All the best,
Colette and Rachel

A touch of pink and red for February

Are you needing a bit of color too? I realized yesterday that I am craving color!

As much as I adore the cremes and tans and greys of a Scandinavian color palette, this time of year I need a bit of color in pink or lavender or orchid to pop the neutrals and liven things up!

And you know how we love to "play" with our product! You just never know what we'll tuck into a birdcage. Jewels are now nested in this pretty red cage!

Hope your day is filled with a bit of color!
All the best,
Colette

It's February!

February is here! It's time to shed the winter blahs!

I truly believe that a bit of chocoate, a romantic card, and a touch of red takes care of the winter blahs!

I love all of the colors of the month:Red and pink and lavenders and just a bit of lace and softness makes the harsh winter seem to disappear.

We are stocked with vintage romantic goodies--cards that make me swoon.

And such pretty touches to send anyone.
I think everyone deserves a Valentine, so I intend to send them out to my sweet friends near and far! Let's share the joy we used to get in grade school when our "mailbox" would be stuffed with Valentines! Remember? Such an old fashioned, sweet tradition!

And have a piece of chocolate too! I insist!
All the best,
Colette

Station 8 has gone Hollywood with The Bachelor!

 Do you watch The Bachelor?
If you haven't seen the show, you'll want to tune in this Monday night, Feb. 4th,
because Station 8 is in this episode!
This gorgeous leather sofa and antique trunk were used in the filming of this Monday's episode!

That's right! The set designers came into the shop needing props for the "glamping" scene (glamour camping) and fell in love with this antique leather sofa and trunk! So exciting isn't it?

They filmed in Whitefish and other parts of the Flathead, and .....the bachelor Sean, arrives in a sea plane operated by my husband, Peter's compnay, BackCountry Flying Experience!

I was standing there watching the plane take off and land, and I even got to hear the communication between the pilot, Scott Wolff,(Peter's good friend) and the film crew!! Oh it was fun!

When the bachelor got out of the plane, I was within a few feet of that handsome hunk!

I will be watching for the glamping scene--and trying to spot our furniture! Can't wait!
I hope you get to watch it too, and say a cheer for Montana! We've gone Hollywood!

All the best,
Colette

Luscious Lockers!

Just showing these amazing antique lockers that we love!
The interiors could have baskets on the bottom to put sports equipment in, or sports shoes, or seasonal clothing. The possibilities are endless!

Notice the interior hooks:  perfect for hanging sports equipment, hoodies, and keeping apparel up off the floor.

And the rustiness can be taken care of by spraying two coats of matte polyeurethane, so that anything touching it will not have rust rubbed off onto it.
So Easy!
A great set for kids room, mudroom, entry, or wherever you want stylish retro organization!
Just had to share these yummy lockers with everyone.

A bit of freshness for you!

Time for a fresh pop of pretty pastel pink to help us get through some grey days!
Sometimes the neutrals just need a fresh color to keep the inspiration coming.
We took this neutral creme and taupe dining table, added a "script" french linen table runner, then layered on the pink hues to warm it up.

The contrast of pink with black and toile just seems to work!

And what room can't enjoy a bit of pink in an accent table or a vintage hamper?

We used a vintage ballerina tutu and used it almost like a placemat to act as an anchor for these cloches. And under the cloches? Old hinges! Instant art!

Hope you got a bit of inspiration here!
Enjoy!

Giving Thanks

It is with pride that I am posting this beautiful photo that Jack DeWitt of Eureka took at my shop yesterday. He is the most gifted artist, and I am so thankful to have him share his work at Station 8.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.
I am grateful for all of you, who support me, share small kindnesses, and inspire me to be my best.

May your day be filled with many blessings.

Icy Frosty and a bit of glimmer!

Cloches elevate whatever object you place underneath!
I adore cloches for the simple fact they keep all the smalls underneath dust free!
I only have to wash the cloche.

Isn't the iceskater lovely next to this trio?
She is a beautiful signed sculpture--just waiting to find a new mantel or tabletop to skate across!

Enjoy the day!
