Passion for all Things Aqua!

It is a rainy Wednesday, and I decided I needed to see some of our famous Montana blue sky, so I am sharing these wonderful photos taken by one of my fabulous customers, Michelle Wells. She was in last week and captured my favorite colors in her photos.

I am so inspired with all shades of aqua, and tend to select items for my shop that have this color in them. Some would say I'm obsessed with the color! What is it about all the many shades of robins egg blue and aquas that make me smile? It makes me recall days at the beach, with the soft blue sky overhead, the shades of the ocean, and searching the sand for small pieces of beach glass. My shop is overflowing with vases, buckets, pots and old vintage summer fans in these lovely hues of blues. ahhhh.....

I have been busy unpacking some new arrivals and readying the shop for our Open House coming up May 8. I am changing displays and freshening everything, making it new and fabulous for our party! Cannot wait!!

So much to do.... I must get back to playing with the product!

Till next time, have a Blue Sky Day!

All the best,

Colette

Open House and Spring Party!

Are you as ready for spring as I am? This week we had 2 whole days of sun, warm temps and glorious blue sky. I wore my sandals, was outside raking up leaves from winter storms and it was actually hot! So today we're back to chilly, and I'm wearing layers, but I'm still thinking spring because I'm planning my Spring Open House!
Come rain or shine, on Saturday May 8, it'll be springtime inside my shop! We'll have lemonade, cupcakes and other goodies and drawings for Station 8 gift cards! Co-sponsored by Cindy Gerrity of 406 Woman magazine!(she's bringing the cupcakes!) So save the date, bring your girlfriends, and the SUV (you'll need the storage space!) and come see all my new stuff!!
And, plan on going up to my friend Sally's shop, Fashion Finds, as she's having her spring party May 8 as well! We'll see you then!
All the best,
Colette

We're goin to the Farm Chicks show!

Yee Haw!!! We are officially Farm Chicks!! Station 8 ( myself and my principal buyer) will be selling at The Farm Chick show in Spokane WA June 5th and 6th, along with tons of other creative and talented women (and maybe some men) from around the Northwest. We are so excited to be a part of the show this year!!! Here are some of the things that we will be taking with us....
We're calling our look British Colonial, think "early 1900's safari". We have been saving some of our favorite things for the show..... vintage cameras, typewriters, binoculars, and an old black iron daybed. Of course, we are still collecting things to take with us, so check back to see what we have found! Now that we have a plan for the show, we're asking ourselves the really important question... What will we wear????
All the best,
Colette

Introducing Station 8 Antiques!

I can't believe it's finally happened--I'm blogging. The girls told me"It has to be done" so, as a good shop owner, I listened to my girls! I am sitting here shaking with excitement and have become tongue tied. So, the girls say, "Just tell your story."

Let me tell you about my shop,"The Shops at Station 8", located in the small town of Columbia Falls, Montana, just a few miles west of Glacier Park. I fell in love with this 100 year old train depot in 2007 and after renovating it just a bit, I opened my antiques and home decor store on June 7, 2008! My dream came true and I am still counting my blessings that I am living my dream of owning my very own shop. Of course, I knew I couldn't fill a 4000 s.f. building all myself, so I carefully selected the finest merchants to join my team, thus, The Shops at Station 8 was born. I thrive on merchandising, creating delightful vignettes, inspiring displays and having fun with my loyal customers! And every day is new and fresh and challenging, and isn't that the best? What could be better? I plan to meet you here each week to share the goings on at Station 8.

All the best,

Colette
